Check Eligibility

How to use the Age Calculator

  1. Enter your Date of Birth in the first field.
  2. Set Age As On to the cutoff date from your exam notification (the reference date used for age calculation). Click Set to Today if you just want your current age.
  3. Click Calculate to see your exact age in years, months, and days, plus the total days.
  4. To check eligibility, turn on the Exam Eligibility toggle, enter the exam's minimum and maximum age, and calculate — the result shows whether you qualify.

Why you might need this

Every Indian government exam sets an age window, and the cutoff date differs from exam to exam — SSC CGL uses August 1 of the exam year, UPSC uses August 1, while banking exams like IBPS PO use November 1. A few days can be the difference between qualifying and being rejected, so you need exact years-months-days as of the specific cutoff date, not just your age today.

Beyond exams, an exact age calculator is useful for birthday countdowns, legal age verification (turning 18 or 21 for contracts, voting, or driving), and checking a child's age for school admission cutoffs. The eligibility toggle lets you plug in any exam's age range and instantly see if you're within bounds — including whether you're close enough that next year's cycle will still work for you.

If you're preparing for an exam with a typing test requirement, you can also check your typing speed with the Typing Tutor. Once you confirm eligibility, make sure your application photo meets the portal's specs using the Photo Editor.

Frequently asked questions

How is age calculated for exam eligibility?

Exams count completed years as of the cutoff date in the notification. If the cutoff is 1 August 2025 and you were born on 2 August 1998, you're 26 (not yet 27), so you'd still qualify for a 27-year max. This calculator gives exact years-months-days as of any date you set.

What age relaxation applies to OBC, SC, and ST candidates?

Typical relaxations are 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and up to 10 years for PwBD, added to the general-category upper limit. The exact years vary by exam, so check your notification and enter the adjusted maximum in the eligibility checker.

Is RSCIT age-restricted?

No. RSCIT (Rajasthan State Certificate in Information Technology) is a computer-literacy certification with no minimum or maximum age — anyone can enroll and take the exam.

Can I use this for a birthday countdown?

Yes. Enter the birth date and set “Age As On” to the upcoming birthday date to see exactly how many days remain, or set it to today to see how many days until your next birthday.

Does the calculator store my date of birth?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your date of birth is never sent to a server or saved after you leave the page.

Why does my age differ from what the portal shows?

Portals use their specific cutoff date, not today's date. Set “Age As On” to the exact cutoff from your notification and the result will match.
